Our Standard Workscope for an AC Motor Rebuild:

  • Dismantle, clean, and inspect the motor.
  • Determine bearing and seal data and requisition replacements.
  • Megger stator to check winding condition. Strip stator & rewind if windings have failed. Apply VPI insulation process.
  • Megger rotor to check winding condition or Growler check the rotor to check rotor condition.
  • Inspect miscellaneous parts for damage.
  • Verify all machine fits and surfaces.
  • Dip and bake the stator.
  • Balance rotor.
  • Assemble, test, and refinish motor.
  • Load test motor; record final data.
  • Perform final quality control check.

  • Megger armature to check winding condition.
  • Strip Armature of failed windings & rewind armature.
  • Tig weld leads to commutator.
  • Apply VPI insulation process to rewound armature.
  • Megger fields to check winding condition.
  • Check miscellaneous parts for damage.
  • Check and verify all machine fits and surfaces.
  • Dip and bake armature.
  • Dip and bake fields.
  • Turn, undercut, and polish commutator.
  • Determine brush data and requisition replacements.
  • Balance armature.
  • Assemble, test, and refinish motor.
  • Load test motor; record final data.
  • Perform final quality control check.
